Traditional political outreach is done via phone, mailers, and canvassing, with electronic
formats such as email, social media, and texting being added recently. Generally, messaging is coordinated in a centralized manner controlled by political campaigns or parties. The GCA process uses decentralized outreach, with messages coming directly from volunteers to their neighbors. The Democratic Committee manages the process, allowing volunteers to use whatever method they feel most comfortable with. Outreach is supported by a promotional cycle for
the engagement events, also run by the committee.
